Lots of people are talking about the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Are these standards really a good thing for students with learning disabilities? Louisa Moats, an expert on literacy and learning disabilities, raised some questions about how the CCSS may not help our students. In a commentary published in New Times for Learning Disabilities in June of 2012, she cautioned advocates and educators not to slip into a trap of our own making.
