Information Collected From Your Use of Our Site
Aside from any information you may actively disclose to us, there is other, less obvious, information which we might gain from you. Generally, we use such information for internal purposes, such as to improve the content of our Web pages.

Aggregate Information. Our system automatically gathers information about the areas you visit on our Site. We use this information in the aggregate to make our Site better. We may also share this aggregate statistical information with other organizations, but in doing so, we do not disclose individual names or personal navigational information. Some examples of how this aggregate information is collected are as follows:

  • Cookies. Cookies enable you to interact with TeachingLD. By communicating with our site when you log in to Find a Colleague, LD Discussions and/or the Member’s Only areas, cookies speed up and ease your navigation, which prevents you from having to retype your User ID and Password every time you return to these areas. Widely used on the Internet, cookies have become an industry standard. Although a cookie cannot, in and of itself, identify you, it can identify your computer. Your Web browser is probably set up to accept cookies automatically. If you wish to disable cookies, you may do so by adjusting the options or preferences in your Web browser. However, by doing so, you will lose some of the functionality of TeachingLD Web pages.
  • IP Addresses. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you begin service with an Internet Service Provider (ISP). TeachingLD collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration and to audit the use of our Site. Each time you sign onto our Site and each time you request one of our pages, our server logs your IP address.

HOW TO ACCESS YOUR COLLEAGUE PROFILE INFORMATION
To access your Colleague Profile information you must first sign in. After signing-in, click on My Colleague Profile in the left navigation bar. You can view your complete profile information and make any changes or updates you wish. To activate any changes, click on Save Changes at the bottom of the profile form.

HOW TO ACCESS YOUR CEC MEMBERSHIP NUMBER AND PASSWORD
Access to the Member’s Only area of TeachingLD requires that you log in using your CEC membership number (user login) and password. Membership numbers and passwords are assigned and maintained by the Council for Exceptional Children. If you do not know your membership number/user login, call CEC’s Constituent Services Center toll free at (888) 232-7733, TTY (703) 264-9446, and ask them to look up your membership number (which is the same as your user login). If you do not know your password, call CEC’s Constituent Services Center at the number above and provide your name, CEC ID#, mailing address, and daytime phone number. For security purposes and to protect your privacy, CEC must verify your member record information before your password can be released to you.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR CEC MEMBER PASSWORD INFORMATION
To update your Member Password for your Council for Exceptional Children membership or to renew your CEC and DLD memberships online, please visit the Web site of the Council for Exceptional Children.
