About logging into TLD for members

Members who need to log into the new TeachingLD site for the first time may find it a little confusing to get started. We've created a slightly different system that will, we hope, make it easier in the long run, but it will require jumping a hurdle the first time one visits. This is because you need two accounts, a TeachingLD account as well as your CEC-DLD account.
When you visit TLD for the first time, please register with TeachingLD by entering a username (DLD members, use the email address on file with CEC) and clicking on the "forgot password" link at the top right of the page. This will cause a link to be sent to your e-mail so that we can create a TLD account for you. Then you will have credentials (a login ID and password) for TLD.
Next, to gain access to features that come with your DLD membership, you will have to authenticate again using your CEC membership credentials—the e-mail address and password you use for CEC. When you click on a members' or subscribers' content item, the system will recognize that you need to authenticate and will request your CEC userid and password.
Once members are through that second gate, the TLD system will remember their status for many days, so you'll only have to log in using your TLD credentials. If you wish, you may make the two sets of credentials the same.
DLD members, to test whether you have successfully completed member authentication, try going to the members' home page. If you can access the members' home page, it means you've completed both steps and you can see all member and subscriber content. If you have not completed both steps, you will be prompted to log in with your CEC credentials—and then you'll be in with in crowd!
