  • DLD at CLD 2015! - October 1, 2015

    DLD is partnering with the Council for Learning Disabilities to present at the 37th International Conference on Learning Disabilities in Las Vegas! Join us for informative sessions, speakers, and activities, all focused on working with students with LD. The conference runs October 1 and 2, 2015. For more information, click here

    Join us in sunny San Diego April 8-11, 2015! We've got lots planned--pre-conference workshops and strands by DLD Board members, a showcase session as well as our Business Meeting and Reception on Thursday, and many informative sessions Thursday through Saturday. Make plans to go!

    Join us for all of the great DLD activities at CEC! We will be at the DLD Booth in the Divisions Section of the Exhibition Hall. Come by to say hello, get information about events, or to pick up great freebies!

    10:30-11:30am DLD Showcase: Take a Stance! DLD's Position Statements (Convention Center, 103B)

    Join DLD President, Erica Lembke, and other leaders in the field as they discuss what special education should be for English Language Learners with LD and intensive interventions for students with LD.

    5-6pm Annual Business Meeting at the Marriott (Salon F, Level 5)

    Board members will report on the state of the Division and honor our Outstanding Doctoral Research, Sam Kirk, and Jeannette Fleischner Award winners.

    6-8pm Reception and Student Poster Session (Salon F, Level 5)

    Join DLD Members and friends as we honor the work of Tom Scruggs and Margo Mastropieri and hear about the research of current doctoral scholars.

    Committee meetings will be happening throughout the week. Please see your convention book for times and places.

  • DLD Fall Conference in Sun Valley - October 2, 2013

    Idaho DLD, Idaho CEC, Idaho School Psychology Association, and Idaho Department of Education, provided an informative fall conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. DLD Board members, as well as Louisa Moats and Evelyn Johnson, presented on important topics to Bridge the Gap between Research and Practice. See the document for photos.

  • Writing Webinar 2013 - April 25, 2013

    Once again DLD and CEC are producing a fabulous professional development program for educators. This one focuses on assessing and teaching written expression using evidence-based practices. Internationally known authorities will present a series of three one-hour sessions in April and May of 2013 designed to help teachers, clinicians, assessment personnel, administrators, and others design and deliver higher quality services for students with or at risk for learning disabilities. 

  • Student Poster Presentations 2013 - April 4, 2013

    On 4 April at the annual reception following DLD's business meeting at the Convention of the Council for Exceptional Children, DLD Student Representative Amy Boele will host a group of students presenting posters showing their current research. 

  • CSR Webinar - March 18, 2013

    DLD and CEC will collaborate on a Webinar about Collaborative Strategic Reading on 18 March 2013. DLD President Janette Klingner and DLD Member Alison Gould Boardman will provide the expertise for the Webinar, explaining how teachers, administrators, and other educators can employ this standards-aligned and evidence-based practice to help students with learning disabilities and those who are learning English at the upper elementary and middle school level to succeed in reading.

    The Division for Learning Disabilities is collaborating with the Florida Council for Exceptional Children in the fall of 2012 for Florida CEC's annual convention. Join us!
